The following are some tips that can help save your life or others...
***Have
your 911 address visible from the roadway***
Helpful Hints:
1. Your address should not only be visible from the roadway, but also legible.
3 or 4 inch reflective numbers work well for town address when your
residence is only 10 or 15 yards from the roadway.
2. If your residence is more than 15 yards from the roadway, have your 911 address sign posted at your driveway.
3. If you share your driveway with your neighbor, be sure that your house is also marked with your address.
You may ask, "Why should I place 911 address on my house or at my driveway
when it is already on my mailbox?"
Remember that a lot of people's mailboxes are a distance away from their home,
or are grouped with other mailboxes.
Check with your local fire, or police departments on details where to obtain 911 address signs as a lot of departments sell the signs as fund-raisers, or check with your local vinyl graphics and/or road supply dealers.

***When
you see the red flashing lights of an ambulance
or a fire truck, or the red and blue
lights of a police car, remember to pull off to the right and stop as soon
as it is safe to do so. It is the law!
In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a blue light used by itself is a courtesy light requesting that you pull over and let the blue light pass, but does not require you to yield to the right of way as do the red lights of the police, fire and ambulance and the person driving that vehicle must follow ALL traffic laws.
A red light on a private vehicle is to be treated as if it is on a fire truck, ambulance or police car.
